VITOOL® is the world’s first multi-tool designer specifically for rugby and football players - Designed and founded by Tom Martin.

Composed of three different-sized sprig tighteners, a safety blade for cutting strapping tape, a flick-out sprig hole cleaner, a tap key, a bottle opener and a carabiner spring clip. All in a compact design that easily fits in a pocket, gear bag, or on a medic belt. 

The inspiration for VITOOL® emerged in a changing room before a game, when I found myself frustrated by the lack of a simple tool to tighten my boot sprigs. This experience revealed a significant gap in the market for a multifunctional tool designed specifically for rugby and football players.

Motivated by my passion for the sport and a deep understanding of player needs, I began developing my first sporting product during my industrial design studies at Victoria University. After an early prototype was shortlisted for the NZ Best Design Awards, I continued to refine and extensively test prototypes in Provincial, Super Rugby, and International environments, my initial ideas evolved into VITOOL® - an 8-in-1 multi-tool designed to help players prepare to perform and is now used by teams ranging from the All Blacks and Super Rugby teams to clubs and schools across New Zealand.
